Florence Au is a Master of Science in Global Affairs candidate at New York University’s Center for Global Affairs. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce, and was employed as a Senior Analyst at the investment management arm of the Bank of Nova Scotia in Canada prior to NYU. Florence holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the Toronto CFA Society.
Jhelum Bagchi is a second year MSGA student from India. An undergraduate in Chemical Engineering she worked with Nissan Middle East in Dubai for a while, before deciding she was more interested in energy and oil than the Middle Eastern luxury car market dynamics. She looks forward to comments on her blog entries!
Born and raised in France from an Algerian father and a French mother in a diverse community outside of Paris, Linda Bouzembrak has been exposed to a variety of cultures and civilizations at very early age. After graduating from a French university with a double major in finance and accounting, Linda joined a well-respected financial consulting company and was assigned to projects in France, Finland and the United States. Linda is starting her third semester at New York University’s (NYU) Masters of Science in Global Affairs program where she is concentrating on International Relations. In the meantime, Linda is interning as a research assistant at the International Center for Transitional Justice, Middle East – North Africa division.
Kristy Crabtree Kristy received her Master’s of Science in Global Affairs at New York University, where she focused on international human rights law, specializing in research on economic rights for displaced and refugee populations. Kristy now works for Episcopal Migration Ministries, a non-profit contracted by the U.S. Department of State to conduct refugee resettlement in the U.S. Kristy has contributed articles to Glimpse Magazine and Forced Migration Review. Kristy received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from Gonzaga University.
Karen Duncan is a second-year student in the MSGA program at NYU, with a declared concentration in International Relations. A Jamaican migrant, she graduated from NYU with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations. She is involved in international youth outreach programs and is committed to facilitating connections between local and international groups for cultural exchange purposes.
Jennifer Dunham, a former PGI editor in chief, received her Master’s in Global Affairs from New York University in September 2009. She concentrated in international relations, and wrote her thesis on gender issues, reparations and transitional justice, using case studies from Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Timor-Leste. She works full time as the managing editor of Facts On File World News Digest, a New York City-based weekly news publication, where she covers major events in Africa. Jennifer graduated from Columbia University with a BA in history and sociology.
Born in Woodward, Oklahoma and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Adair Fincher received her Masters in Global Affairs from New York University. Her concentration was in international human rights law and she is writing her thesis on cultural rights from a legal perspective. She received her Bachelor’s degree in International and Area students from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma.
Brianna Lee is a second year student in the MGSA program and the blog administrator for PGI. She is a San Francisco native and a graduate of UC Berkeley with a background in mass communications. She has lived, studied, and volunteered in East and Southeast Asia as well as Latin America. Her main focus is international relations, with special interest in international press and media affairs (press law, information access, cyber-dissidence and digital rights).
Dan Logue is in his second year at Center for Global Affairs. His primary interests are international political economy and finance. Other areas of studies include Latin America and energy. This year he will serving as PGI’s Managing Editor, assisting in author and CGA community outreach.
Claire R. Thomas is an alumna of New York University’s Center for Global Affairs, where her studies concentrated on international law and human rights. A Chicago native, Claire completed her undergraduate work in anthropology and French at the University of Chicago and also studied at the Université de Paris X, Nanterre. She is currently a first year law student at New York Law School.
